The Smithbrook vineyard has one of the highest number of different clones of Sauvignon Blanc in a single property in WA. Why? One of Smithbrook's founders, Bill Pannell, recognised that the climate and soil were perfect for growing Sauvignon Blanc. Being the perfectionist that he is, Bill planted a wide range of clones to determine which would thrive and create what he hoped would be the best Sauvignon Blanc in Australia. Today we utilise a range of clones in our wines in order to achieve balance, consistency and most importantly, great flavour.
