Idyllic Location, Iconic Drops
The Smithbrook vineyard is located in Western Australia’s picturesque Pemberton wine region, a 3.5 hour drive south of Perth and 90 minutes south of Margaret River. In recent years, Pemberton has gained increased prominence and recognition due to its evolution as an exceptional cool-climate grape-growing area.
Making History in Pemberton
Established in the late 1980s by wine legend Dr Bill Pannell (Moss Wood, Picardy), Smithbrook was the first major vineyard in the Pemberton region. The subsequent involvement of Brian Croser (Petaluma, Tapanappa) helped cultivate a vineyard that produces fruit of the highest quality and delivers an outstanding range of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties.
Fogarty Wine Group
A New Beginning
In 2010 Smithbrook was acquired by Peter and Lee Fogarty, making it part of the family-run Fogarty Wine Group. Smithbrook has continued to be a pioneer in the Pemberton region, with each of its wines capturing the essence of what this beautiful area has to offer.
