Making History in Pemberton

Smithbrook was born from the combined passions of two of Australia’s most highly regarded winemakers, Dr Bill Pannell and Brian Croser, who recognised the winemaking potential of the area very early on, in the late 1970s. With the first vines planted on the 100-hectare property in the 1980s, this was one of the first established vineyards in the Pemberton region and Smithbrook is now highly regarded as one of Pemberton’s pioneering estates.

In 2010 Smithbrook was acquired by Peter and Lee Fogarty, making it part of the family-run Fogarty Wine Group. Smithbrook has continued to be a pioneer in the Pemberton region, with each of its wines capturing the essence of what this beautiful area has to offer.
